The acronym FOMO comes from the English expression “fear of missing out”, which translated into Portuguese means “fear of missing out”. This term is used as the fear of not being able to keep up with updates and events, which makes the person stay connected to social networks. The term is also used for curiosity in knowing what others are doing, wearing, eating, feeling, etc.
Some of the main symptoms of this syndrome are: dedicating a lot of time to social media, using your cell phone excessively, including during meals, at work or even driving, having difficulty living in the moment and worrying about taking photos to post them on social media. social networks, constantly waiting for new notifications on your cell phone, among others.
