For a long time, children and adolescents constituted a group that apparently did not present a risk for suicide. Unfortunately, however, this reality is very different: the World Health Organization published in its latest report that suicide is the fourth leading cause of death for young people between 15 and 29 years old, behind traffic accidents, tuberculosis and interpersonal violence. In our country, the statistics are also worrying. According to the epidemiological bulletin released by the Ministry of Health, cases of suicide among adolescents increased by 81% between 2010 and 2019. On today's ABP TV, we're going to discuss the Special Yellow September® theme: suicide in children and adolescents.
