Suicide is a serious health problem that affects everyone. According to data from the World Health Organization, cases exceed 1 million in all countries. In Brazil alone, the Ministry of Health records more than 14,000 cases of suicide per year, most of which are committed by young people. Statistics indicate that virtually all episodes were related to mental disorders, especially those that were not diagnosed or treated incorrectly and, therefore, suicides could have been avoided. With the aim of changing this sad reality and preventing cases of suicide, the Associação Brasileira de Psiquiatria, in partnership with the Federal Council of Medicine, annually promotes the Yellow September® campaign. This month, ABP TV will launch the September Yellow® special series, aiming to bring quality and relevant information to the entire population. On today's show, we're going to discuss the myths and truths about suicide.
