It is undeniable that marijuana is one of the most controversial illicit drugs today. Although more and more people are trying to prove possible "benefits", several studies prove that the plant has several harmful substances that may be linked to the development of mental illnesses. One of these diseases is schizophrenia, which affects about 23 million people worldwide, according to the World Health Organization.
