Bariatric surgery, also known as gastric bypass surgery, is one of the solutions for cases of morbid obesity. The main benefit of surgery is long-term weight loss and maintenance. However, not all morbidly obese people are eligible for the procedure. Psychiatric evaluation is mandatory and essential for the success of the operation.
This is because several psychiatric comorbidities can accompany morbid obesity. On today's ABP TV, we will discuss the topic: "Beyond surgery: psychiatric treatments for bariatric patients".
