The term nomophobia comes from the English expression "no mobile", which means without a cell phone. Together with the suffix "phobia", the term means the fear or dread of being without a cell phone or, by extension, being disconnected.
Such irrational fear stems from the thought of being unable to use the phone for some reason, such as no signal, internet package ending, no wifi or low battery. How does psychiatry see nomophobia? What are the main related comorbidities and how to approach and manage the patient?
