March 30 is marked as World Bipolar Disorder Day and aims to draw attention to this disorder, fight stigma and bring information about it to society. The date was chosen in allusion to the birthday of the painter Vincent Van Gogh, posthumously diagnosed as a patient.
BAD is characterized by episodes of depression and mania, with or without psychotic symptoms. Its crises, which affect about 3% of the world's population, can vary in intensity, frequency and duration. Furthermore, patients with bipolar disorder are in the main risk group for suicidal behavior.
In order to address important information regarding bipolar disorder, on today's ABP TV, we will discuss the theme "Special Bipomarço: stigma and bipolar disorder".
