Mood disorders are considered a major public health problem due to the patient's loss of functionality, worsening of quality of life and also due to their close relationship with other clinical diseases. The concept of comorbidity refers to the presence of two or more pathological conditions in the same patient, which happens with the individual suffering from bipolar disorder. With regard to bipolar disorder - TB, which affects about 0.6% of the world's population, there is a high prevalence of metabolic, cardiovascular and endocrine disorders, in addition to other psychiatric illnesses, such as generalized anxiety and substance dependence. such as alcohol and tobacco.
