Much has been said about the mental health of physicians during the Covid-19 pandemic. But this is an old problem that has only intensified these days. Long working hours, few resources, among several other adversities, wear professionals down not only physically, but mainly mentally and often these psychiatric conditions, which are usually depression and substance abuse, result in suicide.
The prioritization of patients, helping others often makes the doctor neglect their own health, but it is extremely important to provide adequate care and treatment to these professionals who care so much for our health and well-being.
Despite knowing you need help and being fully aware of the consequences of lack of proper treatment, why is it so difficult for a doctor to seek help? This and other questions will now be answered on ABP TV.
