Abstract

“Psychiatric consultation”, a term that refers to psychiatric practice in general hospitals. The insertion of psychiatry in general hospitals is a major challenge today, since patients are under the care of other specialists, in the treatment of other pathologies. Considered an area of knowledge that is in charge of assistance, teaching and research at the interface of psychiatry and other medical specialties, the interconsultation evaluates and indicates psychiatric treatment for patients who are under the care of other specialists. In this work, there is a need to investigate the organic causes for the psychiatric symptoms of patients who are hospitalized in general hospitals.
