Panic disorder is a disease that is characterized by sudden anxiety attacks with numerous physical symptoms, a feeling of despair or intense fear, often for no apparent reason. These crises last for a few minutes and during this period the person has the impression that he no longer has control over himself, that he will die or go crazy. Science has not yet discovered the causes of panic disorder, but it is believed that factors such as stress, genetics, temperament susceptible to stress, associated with changes in the way the brain works and reacts to certain situations may trigger the disease.
