Tobacco is a set of substances that make up industrial cigarettes, with nicotine being the substance that induces dependence in its users. According to the World Health Organization, about a third of the world's population is a smoker, mostly men. In Brazil, the prevalence of addiction reaches 17% of the population, 20% men and 13% women. In adolescence this prevalence reaches 4.5%, in other countries the prevalence reaches 35%. Smoking can lead the smoker to develop several diseases, including cardiovascular diseases, chronic diseases of the respiratory system and cancer. It is one of the main risk factors for mortality in the world even today.
