The most prevalent sleep disorder, insomnia is easily encountered in the clinical practice of psychiatrists. This can be characterized as the difficulty of initiating sleep, as well as maintaining it throughout the night. How to manage cases of insomnia that do not improve after the treatment indicated by the doctor? What aspects and comorbidities should the psychiatrist be aware of when the patient brings sleep-related complaints to the office?
