Sleep is essential for people's well-being and physical and mental health, playing a central role in the prevention and treatment of psychiatric disorders. Emotional regulation, cognitive processes, metabolism, immunity and even vaccine response all benefit from adequate sleep. However, in a world connected and active 24 hours a day, people vary their routines and choose to reduce, delay and interrupt their own sleep, in exchange for work or entertainment activities. Insomnia is the most common sleep disorder and it is estimated that between 30% and 50% of the population have symptoms of insomnia disorder.
