Psychiatric illnesses affect all age groups, genders and social classes. But it is known, however, that women tend to have some specific disorders more frequently than men, mainly due to genetic aspects and natural hormonal fluctuations of the female gender. During the month of March, the attention of various sectors of society is focused on women, due to the institution of March 8th as International Women's Day. Continuing the theme started in the previous week, the ABP presents another program focused on the theme, discussing "Women's mental health" next Tuesday, March 10th. What are the most common disorders in women? What are the factors that place them as a risk group for the development of psychiatric illnesses? These and other questions will be answered on ABP TV airing this Tuesday at 8:30 pm by doctors Christiane Ribeiro, Joel Rennó Jr and Maila de Castro.
