The theme "transgenders" is still very recent and, therefore, raises many questions not only for the population, but for psychiatrists and other professionals in the field of mental health. According to a briefing note from the United Nations - UN on the subject, the Trans Murder Monitoring project (“Monitoring of Trans Murders”) documented more than 2,000 murders in 66 countries between 2008 and 2016, the equivalent of one murder every two days. This is a population that is at risk of suffering greater violence, harassment and discrimination, aspects that directly impact mental health. Brazil leads the rankings of violence against trans people, according to a survey by the NGO Transgender Europe. Between 2008 and 2015, 802 trans people lost their lives in the country, highlighting the sad reality of severe intolerance.
