Introduction: The rising global prevalence of cognitive disorders, including mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and dementia, necessitates effective interventions. This literature review examines the impact of physical activity and exercise on individuals with MCI and dementia. Objective and Method: A comprehensive literature search and narrative review were conducted to explore the influence of physical activity on cognitive health, emphasizing mechanisms like enhanced cerebral blood flow and neurotrophic factors. Results and Discussion: Reviewed studies suggest that regular physical activity can positively affect cognitive function and may serve as a valuable component in comprehensive strategies for cognitive disorder prevention and management. Evidence highlights the potential role of physical activity in reducing dementia risk and slowing cognitive decline. Conclusion: Integrating physical activity and exercise into daily routines and healthcare strategies is crucial for addressing the growing challenge of cognitive disorders, potentially enhancing the quality of life for affected individuals and reducing the societal burden associated with them.
