Introduction: Mental Health in Brazil has changed over the years. Today, there is talk of a psychosocial care network. The city of São Paulo follows this process, and the analysis of the production and functioning of mental health in the public network of the city of São Paulo is of interest. Methodology: Data were collected on the TABNET DATASUS platform in the city of São Paulo. The variables were: CAPS and Outpatient Clinic production, number of AIHS, length of hospital stay, ICDs, as well as the profile of patients and their expenses services. From 2017 to 2022. Results: Outpatient psychiatric care in the city has an average production of 627,692 procedures/year with an expenditure of R$ 5,014,354.00. Over 6 years, there were 66,279 hospitalizations, with men being hospitalized more than women. And, the annual expenditure corresponds to R$ 8,174,150.52. Psychotic disorders stand out among the ICDs of hospitalization. The length of hospital stay is between 8-14 days. The CAPS provided 1,651,516 assistances/year with a production value of R$ 1,176,181.00/year. In all services, patients aged 20-59 years predominate. Conclusion: It is important to study the public mental health network in the city of São Paulo, overcoming instrumental and informational limitations, in order to improve psychiatric care.
