The study of the mental health of the elderly has become increasingly important, given the increase in longevity and the aging population in Brazil. Thus, the book Psychogeriatria: diagnosis and management, published in 2023 and orchestrated by Gilberto Sousa Alves, Tíbor Rilho Perroco and Felipe Kenji Sudo, emerges as a reference on the topic. The book has 654 pages and covers everything from outpatient topics to topics related to emergencies and interventional treatments. It also highlights iatrogenesis, polypharmacy and pharmacological particularities, as well as the importance of simplifying prescription. It portraits the neglect of elderly people and how these problems are increasing today. The work serves a wide group of professionals, such as: psychiatrists, neurologists, geriatricians, sleep medicine and primary health care.Downloads
