This letter aims to address the growing spread of false information, a phenomenon observed across all areas of medicine today, but especially regarding attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Obstacles such as self-diagnosis and trivialization of the disorder have been an increasingly frequent issue, capable of complicating the patient's journey until reaching a definitive diagnosis, given by a qualified professional. With international data on the topic, it is also possible to take a look and observe the impact of misinformation even on the local reality.
