Cotard syndrome is a rare condition characterized by anxious melancholy, delusions of non-existence of one’s own body, and delusions of immortality. In this article, we report the case of a 66-year old male patient diagnosed with Cotard syndrome resistant to pharmacological treatment and treated with electroconvulsive therapy. Some peculiarities of the diagnosis and treatment of this condition are discussed.
