Home visits are typical, mandatory activities of the Family Health Strategy, but not for teams working at Psychosocial Care Centers (CAPS). As a result, they may or may not be used as tools to receive patients with mental disorders and their families, encouraging their social integration, supporting their initiatives to achieve autonomy, offering medical and psychological care. Whenever home visits are made, usuallyit is by members of the multidisciplinary team, replacing a patient visit to the staff’s psychiatrist.
