According to the World Health Organization, it is estimated that between 60 and 80 million people worldwide face difficulties undertaking their parenting projects sometime in their lifetime. Wishing to have a child and not being able to conceive may elicit several feelings in the parents, e.g., fear, anxiety, sadness, frustration, depreciation, and shame, sometimes leading to extreme stress situations. Infertility may provoke devastating effects at both individual and conjugal levels, interfere in social relationships and quality of life. Many infertile women perceive the situation as stigmatizing and causing psychic distress and social isolation.
