Introduction of psychotherapy in brazilian medicine: 1887-1889

This work is the result of a systematic research on how psychotherapy was introduced in the Brazilian Court in 1887, under the name of suggestive hypnosis or psychotherapy. It is shown that Eric Coelho and Francisco Fajardo were the patrons this revolutionary mode of psychological treatment in the country.
