Tourette syndrome has been increasingly diagnosed and treated in primary care and private practices. In clinical practice, we see that most patients receive antipsychotics. This article aims to provide an update on its treatment and show that there are safer therapeutic alternatives, such as clonidine. Typical and atypical antipsychotics can be left as a second choice.
