Factores de riesgo y prevención del suicidio en adolescentes

Introducción: El suicidio, una de las principales causas de muerte, afecta especialmente a niños y adolescentes, siendo precedido por ideación e intento. Objetivo: Analizar la relación entre los factores de riesgo de suicidio y resaltar la importancia de la concientización y las estrategias preventivas para reducir la incidencia del suicidio. Métodos: Se trata de una revisión integradora de la literatura, con investigaciones sobre artículos publicados entre 2019 y 2024 en la base de datos PubMed. Resultados: Los estudios analizaron a 20.317 estudiantes, principalmente adolescentes de 15 a 16 años, utilizando métodos variados como ensayos clínicos e intervenciones grupales. Algunas intervenciones mostraron reducciones significativas en la ideación suicida, mientras que otras no tuvieron ningún impacto en los intentos de suicidio o las autolesiones. Las intervenciones efectivas incluyeron programas de resiliencia y detección temprana, especialmente en contextos escolares, destacando la importancia de enfoques adaptados para los adolescentes. Conclusión: Identificar y gestionar los factores de riesgo, como los trastornos mentales y la desesperanza, es fundamental para prevenir el suicidio en adolescentes. Las intervenciones son efectivas, aunque su efectividad puede variar en diferentes contextos.
