Delusional of parasitosis, also known as Ekbom’s syndrome, is a psychiatric disorder in which the patient has a fixed and false belief that one is infested by insects, worms or other small animals. It can lead to local injury by attempting mechanical extraction, as well searching for doctors and dermatologists, who often use drugs that have no efficacy. Due to its rarity, the present study brings a case report of this disorder in an elderly male patient without psychiatric comorbidity who presented remission with Risperidone. This study is based on a database that includes journal articles, case reports, compendium of psychiatry and sources of pharmacology.
