The potential of information and communication Technologies as psychoeducation tools in the era of fake news

Combating the spread of fake news and health misinformation has been identified as one of the biggest current challenges within global public health. Psychiatry and areas related to mental health are especially impacted by the lack of health education, as these are still strongly related to stigma and social marginalization. In this article, we will address the advantages and limitations of the use of information and communication technologies as psychoeducation tools, pointing out future directions for the development of these technologies.
