Desigualdades no acesso à saúde e suas repercussões no tratamento do transtorno bipolar

Portadores de transtorno bipolar (TB) têm maior risco de morbimortalidade por doenças médicas gerais, especialmente cardiovasculares, comparados à população geral. Embora múltiplas causas contribuam para esse desfecho, desigualdades no acesso e no tipo de tratamento implementado para condições médicas gerais são um contribuinte importante. Diferentes países têm buscado atenuar esse problema com soluções que passam pela implementação de cuidado integrado com psiquiatras e clínicos gerais, melhora das estratégias de comunicação e uso mais eficiente da tecnologia.
