Miedo a perderse (FOMO): descripción general, fundamentos teóricos y revisión de la literatura sobre las relaciones con la gravedad de la afectividad negativa y el uso problemático de la tecnología

Este artículo analiza el miedo a perderse (FOMO) en experiencias gratificantes, una construcción psicológica importante en la época contemporánea. Presentamos una descripción general del constructo FOMO y su definición y medición operativas. Luego, revisamos la investigación empírica reciente sobre la relación de FOMO con los niveles de compromiso social en línea, la tecnología problemática y el uso de la comunicación en Internet, la afectividad negativa y las variables sociodemográficas. Además, discutimos las conceptualizaciones teóricas sobre las posibles causas de FOMO y cómo FOMO puede impulsar el uso problemático de la tecnología de Internet. Finalmente, discutimos las direcciones futuras para el estudio empírico de FOMO.
