A adesão terapêutica no transtorno bipolar

A adesão terapêutica é um importante problema para o tratamento das doenças crônicas. No transtorno bipolar, a não-adesão terapêutica contribui para o abismo entre a eficácia e efetividade do tratamento desses pacientes. A ausência de adesão terapêutica é freqüente no transtorno bipolar com estudos demonstrando taxas de até 50% de não-adesão em pacientes americanos. Múltiplos fatores foram associados a não-adesão no transtorno bipolar. Dentre eles pode-se destacar os sócio-demográficos, as atitudes diante a doença/tratamento e os fatores relacionados especificamente com o tratamento. Apesar disso, a mensuração da não-adesão terapêutica é um grande desafio, com instrumentos que não conseguem garantir uma boa acurácia. Por último , o uso de intervenções psicossociais, podem melhorar a adesão terapêutica dos pacientes portadores do transtorno bipolar.
