Entre la clase médica, es frecuente que los términos “salud pública” y “pre-vención” se consideren únicamente aplicables a las enfermedades somáticas. Sin embargo, existe cada vez un número mayor de datos que avalan la relevancia de los trastornos psiquiátricos a la hora de planificar la prevención de la enfermedad y la promoción de la salud.
